CraftStudio – Surprise Christmas eve update!

Hi you guys :). Hope you’re having happy holidays wherever you are in the world and whatever you’re celebrating!

As for me, I’m off to eat a delicious Christmas meal in a minute but first… here’s a little surprise update!

Happy holidays! :) – artwork courtesy of Pixel-boy!

Visual scripting enabled!

I figured out the basics of the variable system and, although it’s far from complete, I’m now confident to let everyone experiment with visual scripting without using a command-line switch.

Don’t get me wrong: it’s not complete at all yet (and I might still break some minor stuff along the way) but good enough is good enough :)

Project export improvements

The way projects are exported / downloaded has been improved both client-side and server-side.

The client now saves partial project downloads so that even if the connection fails during while downloading, you won’t have to start over.

The server has improved prioritisation, the details are ugly and unimportant but it should help making project downloads more reliable.

  • Visual comment blocks now create a new scope (that is, variables declared inside the comment blocks will die after leaving the block)
  • Fixed play/pause button tooltip in the model animation tab
  • Projects can now be opened straight from the Community Projects pane
  • Fixed a crash when multiple popups were opened when opening a bunch of new projects at once
  • Added a santa hat on my head ;)

I’ll be mostly away until new year so see you then and enjoy!
